Is there a type of paint or sealant that I can use to stop rust on an older vehicle?

I've got a project car I'm working on and it has a few holes in the body from rust.Is there a type of paint or sealant that I can use to stop rust on an older vehicle?
There is a product called POR-15. It is designed to be painted directly over rust to stop it. It can also be applied to surfaces without rust to prevent the formation of rust.

I know a professional Auto restorer that uses POR-15 on all of his restorations. Is there a type of paint or sealant that I can use to stop rust on an older vehicle?
Duplicolor has a bunch of paints and primers that are rust resistant, however it an area is currently rusting the only way to completely stop it is to sand or grind it off then seal it with a good primer.
Eastwood sells a rust killing paint.
permatex make a rust remover that you just spraty on and it turns the rust back in to metal. it is in a rattle can can get at any automotive place.
If your too lazy to sand it, just use some self etching primer, works great, nuetralizes the rust and the primer bonds itself to the metal.
Rust occurs from moisture and oxidation. If you just prime over it you have not removed the contaminates, therefore you need to sand the area down to clean metal and then paint or prime.
it's called primer
all paint will prevent rust just make sure when you paint it that the surface has been sanded to get all the rust off. and if you're not ready to actually paint you can just use primer.
The main thing you need to do is to sand and remove all existing rust. Then apply Ospho and let dry for 24 hours. After that, apply a quality sandable primer and I strongly recommend a two stage paint (base coat-clear coat.)
